Initial consultation

During the initial visit, Stephen will walk through the garden with you to get a sense of the space, to establish your needs and to identify any design preferences. Stephen will also discuss a range of reference materials with you, allowing you to develop your brief for the design process.

Issue of proposal

Based upon the initial consultation, Stephen will provide a written design proposal setting out your requirements, any design preferences, his initial observations on the space, a cost estimate and an outline timetable for the process. This allows you to confirm the framework and objectives for the design process.

Surveying the site

Upon confirmation of the brief, Stephen will undertake a survey of the site to record the physical characteristics of the space, the location of existing trees/landscaping, existence of micro-climates and key access/amenity points. Typically for sites over 0.4 acres, a full survey will be commissioned from a surveyor.
